Wilkes County Schools will continue providing breakfast and lunch at no cost to every enrolled student during the 2026-27 school year. The district says it will continue participating in the USDA Community Eligibility Provision through the National School Lunch Program, allowing students from Pre-K through 12th grade to receive both meals each school day without household applications or meal fees. Families do not need to submit a free- or reduced-price meal application for students to receive the standard meals. A la carte items, second meals and other extras may still require payment. The district directs questions to its School Nutrition Department. CSRA Local will keep the information available as a family resource and recheck the program during the school year if the district posts changes.
